West Chester University Art + Design students unveiled a Copenhagen: Sustainable by Design exhibit chronicling their summer study-abroad experience in Denmark. Associate professor David Jones, trip faculty moderator, says it was the university's first study-abroad for graphic/interactive design majors. A unique "Blooms and Bamboos" exhibit was recently displayed at Longwood Gardens. The bamboo and flower arrangements are the masterworks of world-famous artist Akane Teshigahara. Ikebana is a 600-year-old discipline of floral design that expresses Japan's relationship with the natural world.
