Bottoms up. 2

October is one of the most beautiful times of year in Georgia. Mornings are crisp but not cold. Afternoons are pleasantly warm, not obnoxiously hot. There is also so much to do and you don’t have to go far to do it. You can go apple picking and wine tasting and still be home for dinner.

This month in Vinings Lifestyle, it is all about the drinks…where to get them…how to make them…what to eat with them. Vinings and Smyrna has no shortage of places to consume some tasty libations. From unique Argentinian Malbec wines at Canoe to Pumpkin Ale beer (yes, that’s a thing) throughout the Atlanta metro area, we hope to introduce you to some special spirits you may not be familiar with already. Be sure to also check out our review of the newest steakhouse in the area, 101 Steak and an overview of the winery in our own ‘backyard’ at Château Élan.

Until next month, I’ll see you sipping something special at Public House or while working it off on the ALTA courts!

In My Bag

Check out two new things I have to share this month. Both go well with a nice split of bubbly!

Chloe’s soft serve fruit pops (, $3.99) are delicious and healthy! They are made from only three ingredients: fruit, water and a bit of cane syrup. However, you’d never know it. Chloe’s items can be found at select Kroger grocery stores in the Atlanta-area.

“But First Champagne: A Modern Guide to the World’s Favorite Wine” (DavidWhite.Wine, $29.99) is the handbook for anyone who loves a good glass of champagne. (And who doesn’t?) Written by one of the world’s leading wine writers, it will be essential reading for wine enthusiasts. It’s set to be published October 16, 2016.
