“Home is where the heart is.” It’s a common phrase meaning that our homes are a central place in our lives—where we rest our heads, nourish our bodies and make fond memories with loved ones. It’s the epicenter of our worlds, where we start and end each day, and where we keep our most prized possessions.
This month, we bring you our Home issue, which is full of ideas for creating the best environment wherever you call home—whether it’s a cozy apartment, a spacious condo or an ocean view house. When was the last time you took a day to appreciate the historical architecture in San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano, or took a long walk through the Dana Point Harbor. These places are just a few of the anchors that make these cities special, warm and invoke that feeling of coming home.
With springtime upon us, there’s no better time to explore new places outside your home or invest a little “sweat equity” inside your home. In this issue we feature a local truly “home-grown” cafe, to DIY ideas for refreshing the interior and exterior of your home and simple ways the art of meditation helps to ground you back to home.
We hope this issue inspires you to appreciate the many things our coastal cities have to offer – both your personal dwelling and our shared communities—whether you’ve just moved or it’s a place your family has occupied for generations.
Here’s to home sweet home!
