Journey of Transformation

I Am Enough

On the journey of transformation, regardless of the stage you are in, you have the unique perspective to realize that wherever you are, you are enough.

You spend so much time and energy trying to please so many people in your life. You are looking for their approval, their admiration and their endorsement to make you feel that you are good enough, smart enough, capable enough and ultimately, that you are worthy. Spiritually speaking, no one can make you feel more worthy because you already are inherently worthy simply because you exist on this planet.

Simply because you are a Divine Spiritual Being having a human experience.

When I was about eight years old, I planted an apple tree in my backyard. I cultivated it from a seed and then my mother helped me plant it out back. It was growing well and I was so proud of it. I remember it got to be about 12 inches high. I was dreaming about the apples that were going to fall off that tree!

In a rush, likely to see a football game on TV, my dad was mowing the lawn with vigor and haste and he plowed right on over my apple tree. I was devastated; simply crushed at the tender young age of eight.

That planted the proverbial seed for my life lesson in this category. Since then I have been (overly) sensitive about people valuing (or not valuing) my contribution, my cultivation, my efforts. And as I think of this story I have the awareness around all of the care and love and effort we all put into everything we do. We inherently make strides in life thinking (hoping and wishing) that someone is going to recognize what we did and say, “Hey, you are doing a great job, I think you’re awesome!”

Sometimes that happens and sometimes it doesn’t. It particularly doesn’t the older you get and the higher you climb in the business world. But, what about the possibility of doing whatever IT is for only the sake of doing it – not for the recognition? What about doing whatever it is for ourselves? And what about maturing into the position of acknowledging yourself for your accomplishments and achievements.

You have the ability to self-nurture, to provide for yourself all of the things you seek outside yourself. Many of us would never talk to or treat others the way we treat ourselves. I invite you to give yourself a break. Acknowledge all that you are and all that you do. Recognize yourself for how incredible you are and what an amazing life you have had thus far.

Today I want to encourage you to facilitate a little positive self-talk and I want you to do it from the perspective that you ARE inherently worthy. See how this position empowers you, how it instills a sense of well-being and how deep inside you know this to be true. Take just a few minutes on this day. Acknowledge yourself. Acknowledge the accomplishments you have made in your life, or even just this week or this day. You are worthy because you are a Divine Being walking around planet earth “on assignment” just like everybody else. You are enough. Here is a little affirmation for you.

I Am EnoughMy efforts are tremendous. I am doing the best job I can with the tools I have to work with right now. I am a beautiful Divine Spiritual Being having a human experience. I can’t get it wrong. I am proud of my accomplishments and I am grateful to embrace all of the experiences in my life, as I know there is learning in them for me. I am the most important person who needs to know this. I am enough. On my journey of transformation in this life, I am enough.
