BSU to Host Week-Long Celebration for Homecoming 2019
It’s Bowie’s favorite time of year again. Bowie State students and alumni, family and friends come together for a week-long celebration of Bulldog Pride for Homecoming 2019. BSU is hosting a series of homecoming events including a parade, step show, alumni reunion and the highly anticipated football game! The homecoming game will be on Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Bulldog Stadium. The BSU Bulldogs will go head to head with Chowan University. For detailed event information, visit BowieState.edu.
Autumn Concert Series at Christian Community Presbyterian Church Oct. 6
Christian Community Presbyterian Church is putting on its Autumn Concert Series on Oct. 6 from 4–5:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy the sounds of a classical trio, cellist Csilla Lakatos, flutist Maureen Cannon and pianist Rick Osborne. Autism FYI to Host Annual Crabtoberfest Fundraiser Oct. 5
Autism FYI trains law enforcement, school resource officers, firefighters, business staff and health care professionals about autism and how it affects their jobs. Its mission is to make the community autism-ready and to support community members on the autism spectrum by making our society inclusive and autism-friendly. Join the effort and support Autism FYI’s mission by attending the annual Crabtoberfest Fundraiser on Oct. 5 at 12 p.m. at the Prince George’s County FOP Lodge 89 for all-you-can-eat crabs, plus beer, wine, sodas and corn on the cob. Eighth Annual Down Syndrome Awareness Angel Walk Oct. 26
The Parents of Children with Down Syndrome (PODS) of Prince George’s County is excited to be hosting its Eighth Annual Down Syndrome Awareness Angel Walk on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 8:45 a.m. at Bishop McNamara High School. PODS of Prince George’s County is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide support and resources for individuals with down syndrome and their families.
