Bowie Farmers’ Market is Back in Season

Looking to eat local? The Bowie Farmers’ Market runs on Sunday mornings during the season. Visitors to the market will find a large variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, beef and goat meat, delicious bread and baked goods, homemade jams and jellies, ice cream and more. You can also purchase fresh-cut flowers and bedding plants. The City of Bowie Celebrates Independence Day with a Boom

Prince George’s Stadium, home of the Bowie Baysox, will host an evening celebration of America’s birthday on July 2. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. when the Fabulous Hubcaps Band begins the celebration and ends with a fabulous fireworks show at approximately 9:15 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. The stadium’s main gate will open at 6 p.m. for seating. Allen Pond Park will be open and free for picnics on July 4 on a first-come basis. CityOfBowie.org

Kirk Whalum Performs at the Bowie Performing Arts Center

The 10th Annual Lake Arbor Jazz Festival will host a Sunday Inspirational Jazz Experience this month with a VIP Meet & Greet Reception featuring live performances by Kirk Whalum and special guests The Blackbyrds and young bass prodigy Lil Asmar at Bowie Center for the Performing Arts. Kirk Whalum is an American jazz saxophonist and songwriter. He toured with Whitney Houston for more than seven years and soloed in her single “I Will Always Love You.” BowieCenter.org
